Let’s start at the begining. I was born, baptized, and raised, as a Romanian Orthodox. I would pray before bed every night, and while living in Europe would visit the cathedral daily. I was devout in my faith. I truly believed. In God, in Saints, in all the little traditions that go along with being Orthodox. This lasted until I was around twelve years old.
The older I got the more I learned about the world, and at one point (egged on by influences in my life) I declared there was no god. Religion was just another way for the governments of the world to control the masses. To some degree I still believe this – mass religion is different than spirituality and faith. It is made to control people. However this does not mean that there is no higher power.
At one point I started meditating. I started doing yoga. I started reading books that talked about energy and how we can control it and ifluence it. I started feeling it. I began to realize that often times what we ask for, we get – even if at the time it doesn’t seem like it. There’s a reason they say be careful what you wish for.
I started to believe in life force. In energy. Vibrations. When you vibrate at a higher vibration you are happier, healthier, more fulfilled. You find peace. The universe works in a balance: energy can not be created or destroyed. We can imagine or wish or pray things into being. We get what we give/put out. If you put out good vibes, good vibes come back. Yes! Karma. This also works with the law of attraction.
When I made the connection with the law of attraction and prayer. And that the universe is constanlty looking out for me it all clicked. There is a god. There is a higher power. There is something. Whether you want to call it God, Allah, the Divine, Mother Nature. This higher power is all of us. Everything in the universe – all the energy – it’s out there, it’s in me, in you, in your pet. We are all connected.
Then the reason people prayed started making sense. The reason people would hope. Faith. Blind faith has brought miracles to people. They would simply believe it into existence. This works because you are focusing your energies on that thing. That is why Karma is real. This is also why it is so important who you surround yourself with. When your vibe shifts, your tribe shifts. And vice – versa.
I am new on this path to “enlightenment,” so I am still learning. I am still trying to learn to be more positive. To be accepting. To attract positive vibes. However I have found a sense of peace in knowing that what I am putting out there will come back. That my prayers do not fall onto empty ears – after all the Universe is listening to me.
